Taking a break from my regularly scheduled programming, today’s vlog post highlights just two of the many lessons that hurricanes teach us. They are flexibility and humanity.

It’s a unique perspective as the rest of the world goes about their business and we are forced to take a pause from everything in our lives due to the paralysis of our City.

If you haven’t been through a hurricane, then you don’t know what it’s like to camp in your own house. It’s a weird dichotomy to put it mildly.

I am so thankful for the restoration of our household when it happened. However, I am also praying for all of my fellow Houstonians who continue to endure this weather. Please join me.

Curiosity's Role in Our Success: Self-Awareness is Only One Piece of the Puzzle

Knowledge about our hardwiring and self-awareness are important, but they are only one component of our ability to successfully connect with others.

If we don’t have curiosity that goes with it, then we don’t know how we use our “whiskers” to an advantage and also identify how they may be getting in the way.

It’s crucial that we stay present, listen, and communicate in the way that the person on the other side of the table best responds.

As I say in my latest book, we have to “Get to the relationship before we get to the ask.”

Authentizity’s BD Dynamics training program began nearly a decade ago.

Why a fable? Where did the idea come from and how is it applicable to business today?

June 4th is the release date. Yep; it's official!

Today also marks the day that I officially showcase the book cover. The gang's all here -- it's the culmination of all of the characters.

As a reminder, from left to right, you'll meet Stevie, the Entertaining/Juggling Sea Lion; Harlie, the Workhorse; our Client, GiGi, the Giraffe; Dannie, the Loyal and Older Dog; and Rockie, the Robot.

Leveraging the uniqueness of these diverse characters, the fictional book follows the journey as GiGi searches for new consultants to service her technical business. The story follows the four representatives from the competing firms as they prepare for, conduct themselves during, and follow up from an interview with GiGi.

It then reveals the surprising outcome of the client’s selection, including a client debrief which involves all of the characters.
