Why a fable? Where did the idea come from and how is it applicable to business today?

In today's vlog post, I discuss many of the questions that I am hearing about how and why I conceived "Winning with Whiskers™".

Besides the ones that I outline in the video, here are a few other reasons:

o Evergreen in its concept – it is applicable no matter the people, industry, market conditions, etc.

o It adds some fun and lighthearted elements that we can reflect upon to understand how we relate and connect to others.

o It is not to make the subject simple or cartoonish; nor is the intent to be representative of all individuals.

o It is about helping us see and value our uniqueness in the way that we cultivate and advance our business relationships.

June 4th is the release date. Yep; it's official!

Today also marks the day that I officially showcase the book cover. The gang's all here -- it's the culmination of all of the characters.

As a reminder, from left to right, you'll meet Stevie, the Entertaining/Juggling Sea Lion; Harlie, the Workhorse; our Client, GiGi, the Giraffe; Dannie, the Loyal and Older Dog; and Rockie, the Robot.

Leveraging the uniqueness of these diverse characters, the fictional book follows the journey as GiGi searches for new consultants to service her technical business. The story follows the four representatives from the competing firms as they prepare for, conduct themselves during, and follow up from an interview with GiGi.

It then reveals the surprising outcome of the client’s selection, including a client debrief which involves all of the characters.

It's been a busy 2024 so far! In today's vlog post, I share some of the recurring themes from recent trainings and teambuilders as I provide my insights.

- From Kara Goldin's book "Undaunted": I pulled a great nugget for all the ambitious emerging leaders out there (present company included). If you work to make your supervisor and organization look good, then you will ultimately be noticed as a superstar.

- I transition that to our own business relationships. Our relationships must be relational, not transactional. They are marathons, not sprints. Where are you making your deposits?
